Pros: Convenient stop on a long road trip. Nice view of the sunset standing on the walkway outside the room. The feral cats were cute, hanging around outside - they were entertainment for the kids.
Cons: The motel is surrounded by parking, gas stations, trucks parked, and the freeway... it feels like there was an idea at some point that Lost Hills would grow but it is still just a truck stop, really. We didn't mind - it was all we needed (other than having very limited options for a late dinner). If a traveler is looking for more than a place to sleep, this isn't it.

Pros: Great location at intersection of the 5 and the 46. Rural location in dusty agricultural area so difficult to keep pristine but our room clean. Breakfast fine. Staff helpful.
Cons: WiFi not dependable because of location. None in our room but fine in breakfast room.

A clean room with a good bed and a reasonable price.
Pros: It was a convenient location for taking a break from driving for the night.
Cons: There may be a feral cat problem that management needs to attend to by contacting Kern county animal services. They have a trap, neuter and release program that would ensure the cat population doesn’t grow. It’s the humane thing to do.

Good hotel for business travelers.
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel — it’s a great roadside stay for the price. Everything was very clean: fresh bedding, spotless bathroom, and you can really see how carefully the staff look after the place. There’s even a laundry room, which is super helpful if you’re here for work. The location is very convenient too, with cafés, gas stations (including EV chargers), and even a swimming pool nearby. Despite being close to the highway, the room was very quiet — the sound insulation is excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone on a work trip in the area, to truck drivers, or to travelers just passing through who need a good night’s rest.
Cons: The only real downside was the internet. The Wi-Fi connection itself was stable, but the actual internet speed was extremely low and often unstable. I don’t understand why the owners don’t just get Starlink to solve this issue once and for all. That said, for those who struggle to control their time online, this might actually be the perfect place to take a break from social media. 😅
