Winterfell Inn - No Xtra Fees

Pros: Great place - you have all you need but the oven top and sink. So if you are not planning to cook for yourself - this is the place to stay. Aaron and Lynn are wonderful hosts, and you will feel at home. The bed is comfortable, the room has little gems here and there to entertain you - maps, books, guides, and more.

A quite cozy stay with lovely hospitable hosts

Pros: Would love to come back one day! A family of deers came in the yard while we were casually discussing nature preservation and aging biology over the beer with the hosts. The room was lovely: spacious and nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable (we're pretty picky); wifi was great; hot water; also so many snacks and spare hygiene supplies in the bathroom -- we felt like visiting family rather than staying in a hotel.

A lovely place to stay, mostly quiet and serene.

Pros: Loved the private entrance. All the extras available to use.

Cons: No covering to stand under outside. Bed was too hard for me.

Pros: Have stayed here several times now, so won't cover prior review ground, but I stayed at Winterfell with a buddy this time, and I took the roll-out cot, wanting to try that out. Slept great, and better than on my bed at home! 🤔 Also took advantage of the couch and TV this time. Was also able to reclaim some travel shower bottles I left behind in August, which Aaron kept for me, and he offered to let us pick up the key and 'check-in' on our way past Arnold that morning (on a fall foliage drive out past Markleeville), way before the appointed time, so we wouldn't have to do it that night. Very helpful, not knowing when we'd be getting back.

Cons: The 'living room' area needs way more lighting, especially by the corner heater/faux wood stove. It's very dim.

Pros: Very big and very affordable ! Clean and had a full bar with groceries and games for couple or fam ! Also shower had actually good brand name body washes shampoos and conditioners . There was brand new toothpaste’s and brushes for use and you really have everything you need all included ! You can also do your laundry there’s a washer and dryer inside as well and a fireplace

Cons: Cobwebs but too be expected older property

Perfect! The most wonderful place I’ve stayed in a very long time!

Pros: Winterfell was better than expected! A beautiful location, very conveniently located near Murphys, where we were going to see a concert. The hosts were absolutely wonderful, and our accommodations were perfect. Clean, welcoming, beautiful. We especially enjoyed sitting outside the next morning amongst the pines, watching squirrels and relaxing in the fresh air. We will definitely be returning!

Pros: Could you use some more and warmer spectrum lighting in the main suite (it's a bit dim, not much light in the living room area, in general, just an overhead, and the lights are all cool spectrum LEDs), but I've stayed here several times, and like it a lot. Better deal than the local motels, neat location, and host Aaron is always hospitable, and has allowed me on a couple of occasions now to check-in early.

A charming, well-appointed, wonderfully eccentric place in the woods.

Pros: The eccentric charm, the comfortable bed, the abundance of foodstuffs for weary, hungry travelers who stumble in too late to get food in town, the washing machine and drier for those same travelers, the family and pet-friendly accommodations, the delightful hosts, the price and the location.

Cons: If you are on the bottom floor you will hear foot traffic overhead. While the place is comfy and clean, it is funky. So if you need pristine, upscale accommodations this will not be the place for you.

Pros: Well stocked pantry if you needed a snack or quick bite to eat. Very comfortable and an amazing view outside of the forest.

Pros: Die Gastgeber waren super herzlich und hilfsbereit bei allem. Die Liebe zum Detail ist überall vorhanden. Es ist super ruhig und eine wundervolle Naturumgebung.
