Worth a try.

Pros: Large spacious room, clean, good bed and lighting. When renovations are complete this will be a very smart looking place. But it isn't at present.

Cons: Tiny shower and the junk around outside made it look like there were a lot of vagrants around ( there wasnt). Would be nice to have a chair to relax on.

Beautiful room in a great location.

Pros: Marnie and John were superb hosts, very friendly and helpful. Great inn for dinner next door too.

Cons: Couldnโ€™t make the spa bath, the coffee machine or the TV work properly, but we managed without rather than asking for help.

30 minutes S of Sacramento in California Delta Region, a charming treasure easy walk/car day trips

Pros: 30 minutes S of Sacramento, The owners of Freeport Wind Country Inn were welcoming, helpful and have renovated and created simple, charming period inspired rooms. No cute chatskis to clutter the space. Comfy bed and plenty of room, there are spa bathtubs in each room. In the Sacramento River Delta region, away from the highway, you can easily venture out for a day trip or walk along the levees. Last 2 hours before Sunset are stunning, with Vineyards on your right, and the waterway and egrets on the left. There was a local fisherman's bar across the parking lot for a great steak, brunch on the weekend, as well as weekday breakfast from 7 onward in the nearby Golf Course Pub. The 2nd day we drove S to Cosumnes River Preserve, where we saw huge flocks of Snow Geese and wintering ducks and geese. No pesky keys or cards to lose, the front door had a numberical code I took a photo of for easy in and outs.

It was a nice place to stay.

Pros: It was very quiet. I didn't see another person the entire time. Parking was good.

Cons: The bed was very loose and swayed. The jacuzzi tub had flakes of gunk come from the jets.

Pros: Friendly staff. It felt Homey. Loved the bistro. Loved the toys and boards games available. A quiet respite is just what I needed.

Cons: I couldn't really use the TV much. After sifting through, only 4-5 channels and i couldn't always find the kids channel for my kids.

Pros: Extremely happy with our stay, the ower met us for check-in and warmly greeted us. Check-in was flawless, and we were given a tour. The staff in the restaurant and bar treated us as if we were family. Our room was charming and extremely clean. We will return very soon.

Pros: The chance to meet the owners and winemaker Marnie and John Carvahlo was a very special component of this stay. We learned so much about the area, the winemaking industry and the history of the California delta. The food and wine at the inn were excellent and reasonable, as well.
