Pros: Amazing historical hotel in a great old town. Carly the receptionist was lovely and was so helpful recommending restaurants and sights to see. She shared with us the history of the hotel which was so interesting. We would 100% recommend this hotel.

Comfortable and charming in a central position

Pros: Character and charm, air conned and easy access to central Placerville

Cons: Creaky bed! Every movement was accompanied with a creak….

Pros: Location, right in the centre of town. Walking distance to all shops.

Cons: The mattress on our queen bed was a little concave and had us clutching the edge to stop sliding into the middle. Needs replacing!

Gorgeous furnishings, spacious and comfortable room, great location!

Pros: The decor was beautiful, in our room and the rest of the hotel. I appreciated the little bits of history and photos that told the story of the place.

Cons: Our only issue was that something in the room (not sure what) set off my partner's allergies so badly that he had to sleep with a mask on. Not sure if it was dust, mold, a cleaning product, or something else, but he could barely breathe while we were inside.

Pros: We liked the location and the historical artifacts. The balcony was a cool feature, but we did not know about to until last day. The room was nice and everything was working fine.

Cons: The HVAC system was extremely loud with the blower coming on every 15 minutes with a screech. Probably only a problem for our room location (unit is under window of Rhone) but not sure if you can improve with some maintenance.

Exellent hotel

Pros: This is a wonderful hotel. It is old and historical. The lobby is like a museum. But the rooms are better than in modern hotels. Silent heating. The room consists of two rooms - a living room with a kitchenette and a bedroom. Large selection of cable channels on TV for free. Internet and parking are free. Excellent location in downtown. There are cafes, bars, restaurants around. Next time I'll try to stay there again.

Unique and unforgettable stay - we can highly recommend this for a night in Placerville.

Pros: This is such an unique hotel - I believe there is nothing else comparable like the Historic Cary House Hotel. It is like if you would take a step into a time machine and come back to the mid of 18th century to this :D

Pros: Historic it is! Lots of original details work even an elevator that looks like it came when the building was first build! Location is great with all the stores and restaurants in placerville at walking distance.
