Pros: Stunning historical hotel that’s a tourist attraction as much as a fully functioning high-end hotel.

Cons: The humble, modest rooms are deliberately kept as they would’ve been 50-100 yrs ago, which means they are not at all the standard you would expect in an expensive hotel. Somewhat charming, but ultimately lacking.

The Ahwahnee is worth a stay

Pros: Location is excellent. beautiful views from many areas in the hotel - including our room! So tastefully decorated, magnificent design of the hotel/facilities overall - to blend in with the environment. Great to have various food options, and everything we had was delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Due to some maintenance could only use valet parking at the hotel - that was an unexpected cost. we pretty much loved everything else, so glad we decided to stay here for a change.

Amazing stay, would love to return in Summer!

Pros: Unbeatable location, beautiful old hotel with modern amenities and friendly staff.

Cons: Main dining hall only option was a buffet, a la carte would have been a nice option.

Beautifully memorable trip which we look forward to repeating.

Pros: The location makes all the expense and travel well worth it. Stunningly beautiful. Majestic. The Awhanee is in the perfect location for adventurous day hikes on so many beautiful nearby trails.

Cons: My husband and I are not really fans of buffets. It was the only breakfast, dinner option in the beautiful, historic dining room.

Great location, history of place

Pros: Proximity to park features. Wood burning fireplace. Comfortable cabin. EV Charging

Cons: valet parking $30/night, options to park 1/2 mile away. Meals expensive.

Can’t wait to come back! The Awanhee was all that we expected and more.

Pros: The location and beautiful surroundings. Also that they have retained the original vintage decor as it was first designed. A step back in time of elegance. We had a wonderful dinner in the main Dino g room and thoroughly enjoyed the piano playing - it really completes the experience. We also love, love, love the grand fireplace room.

Cons: Only bad experience was in the sweet shop on the morning of Thursday, December 4th. We seriously think the cashier was having a nervous breakdown. She wouldn’t allow us to set our coffee cups down to pay or put the items we wanted to purchase on the counter. My husband said good morning and how are you and she replied please don’t ask me again, I’m having a bad day and this was at 7:00 in the morning. We felt so bad for her but something was seriously wrong. I asked her where to put the products - she told me to hold them in my hands - that’s along with the coffee and trying to pay at the same time!

Pros: Location is spectacular hotel is beautiful Staff and service is Wonderful

Cons: Food is terrible, especially in the main dining room. Worst food we’ve ever experienced

Perfect spot for those wanting to squeeze every minute of their trip enjoying the scenes of Yosemite

Pros: Loved the location and ease of access to the trails. The buffet dinner was excellent and the bar had great food too.

Cons: Nothing.

Awhwanee is always a delight

Pros: Beautiful old hotel. Room large and clean. Perfect location. Some construction work outside.

If you want a truly fine dining experience you still have to wait.

Pros: Yosemite can’t be beat. One of the most beautiful places in the world.

Cons: Main kitchen has been undergoing seismic renovations for a couple of years. When we made reservations a few months before our trip I recall saying that the renovations would be complete prior to our visit. Alas, they weren’t. Completion date now later in 2025. Dining room evening meal was a buffet. Not my standard for fine dining.
