Nice location
Pros: Location was surrealistic, in the middle of Death Valley
Cons: Building itself slightly worn out

Would recommend if room was right for family stay
Pros: Location and amenities was perfect for one night stop
Cons: The loud rude guests slamming doors yelling through hall , it seemed we where placed in building with long term workers and they just didn’t care which was a shame as if have new guest for one night maybe work it better it wasn crowed so am sure a better offer would have been available

Old fashioned charm.
Pros: Location, of course! Old fashioned charm. This is certainly not a standard hotel. Really enjoyed it. Good to wake up there and enjoy the sunrise. Despite various rants about the staff, the prices and the mustiness we felt it was in fact pretty good. Prices are of course what they are but you can determine in advance if they suit you. Of course it’s not new but it’s in decent shape and exceptionally located. Go for it if you can (note that our visit wad in February— the weather was good).

Pros: The location is great. It is close to a lot of the visit points.
Cons: The Ranch 1849 Restaurant dinner buffet is not good, not worth it. I only eat at this buffet in The Ranch At Death Valley. I am not sure about breakfast, lunch, buffet, and other restaurants

Amazing sunrise against the mountain and spring-fed pool are the highlights
Pros: Sunrise against the mountain, spring-fed pool, the architecture and plants
Cons: The buffet at 1849 restaurant is BAD! Other restaurant / food options are good
