Pros: It’s an absolutely amazing place in the middle of the mountains, far away from the rush and “civilization.” A perfect spot for a calm and relaxing getaway. We stayed in the Monarch Studio — a very cozy wooden room with a private bathroom and a terrace. It was fully equipped with towels, bath soap, a heater/fan, fridge, electricity (including an electric kettle for boiling water) and a French press. The resort’s restaurant offers very tasty breakfasts and dinners. The staff were super nice and helpful — we arrived late, after the check-in time, but everything was ready for us. I highly recommend hiking from Mineral King up to Monarch Lake and further to Sawtooth Pass — it’s an absolutely breathtaking trail (the section up to the lake is easy, but the climb to the pass is quite challenging). I can definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful stay in nature.
Cons: The road up to the resort is very winding and narrow — it takes about an hour to drive the 21 miles from CA-198. It can be a bit exhausting, but it’s manageable and fully drivable with a regular car.

If you don’t mind driving along a crazy dangerous mostly single track road for 22miles and a million hair pin turns just
Pros: We stayed in the best cabin on our first night top of the range most expensive it was truly fantastic. On our second night we stayed in the cheapest accommodation
Cons: Cheapest accommodation was truly awful and really scary would never go again. So basic it felt like a scary movie set bed was really noisy, we’d stepped back to the Victorian era which honestly I had no idea what we booked so was quite shocked at just how awful it was. Never go again

awesome!
Pros: Very Very basic, but that is the beauty! the fire stove, bbq, outside and very basic setup of our old lodge was spot on for us, we know where we were about to stay. The drive up the mountain is 1hr at least, so be prepared how to get there and fill up your tank before driving up!
Cons: warning to fill up your tank before you go up: it takes at least half a fuel tank to make it up there!

Wonderful, secluded and highly memorable.
Pros: Incredible location. Remote and peaceful. Spectacular surrounds with empty trails mid October. Stayed in a historical cabin which was very fitting to an experience that allowed us to connect in the moment. The staff were wonderfully sweet and welcoming and the food was all delicious. A highlight was a 4h return hike to Eagle Lake.
Cons: All was to like about the property. It is worth knowing that the last 90min drive to the property is on a variably rough narrow twisty road with a steep drop off most of the way. Take care with the drive and know that an amazing experience awaits you. I wouldn’t recommend doing the drive more than for arrival and departure and to drive slow. Our cabin had a small kitchenette so bring food and supplies if you wish to self prepare meals however the food as mentioned through the restaurant was excellent. Our historical cabin did not have in room amenities but the facilities within 20m were excellent.

All together, absolutely wonderful ❤️
Pros: Food is great, staff wonderful, beautiful grounds. I think it would benefit guests to know WIFI is, at best, sketchy, and for some, guests can only get internet or cell service at the lodge, not in cabins. Let guests know ahead of time that the resort is off grid and accommodations are rustic. Sone clmforts are not available. Also, need to make certain the cabins are stocked. We were very low on paper towels, dishes and glassware inadequate, no kitchen towels, no corkscrew. Apparently, theft is a problem, and that's the reason. Shame. This resort is absolutely the best place for us to unplug from life and relax. Beautiful, peaceful. We will be back.
Cons: See above. Additionally, we were there September 8 to the 11th. I know that's toward the end of the season but there is still 6 or 8 weeks open. A staff member told me the resort closes on October 27 or 28 this year. The restaurant kept running out of food and drink. No quiche, no mimosas, the best craft beers ran out. I know the resort cannot afford waste, but guests should be able to enjoy anything off the menu right up until the last few days.

Séjour parfait à Silver City Mountain Resort

Cons: La route menant au logement est sinueuse et en mauvais état (mais en travaux)
