Station House Inn South Lake Tahoe

Pros: We had a wonderful family stay at the Station House Inn in South Lake Tahoe. Even though it was high season and the hotel was fully booked, the experience was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Being received with coffee, hot chocolate, and even a glass of wine sets the tone immediately — you understand that the soul of the place is truly about hospitality and connection. The staff is exceptionally attentive, warm, and thoughtful. Despite the busy season, they made us feel seen and cared for at every moment. We leave with nothing but beautiful memories from our time there as a family. It was a very special stay, and we would happily return.

Pros: Incredibly friendly staff and exceptional hospitality. They gave us a welcome drink, and compliment s’more sets for by the fire. It has a ski lodge vibe which is very cosy. There is a Beamer screen for movie nights and lots of board games.

Cons: Room was a little dark, but no big deal

Pros: Amazing place, exceeded our expectations for the price you pay and in a great location. High standard of cleaning and the decor was modern! Very friendly staff! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else now 😊

Pros: We loved almost everything. The location was super convenient. The room was clean, comfy and nicely decorated, had mini fridge, enough room around the sink. Especially enjoyed the bathroom - looked like it was recently renovated, shower had strong water pressure. The complimentary IPAs were a nice surprise. Friendly staff.

Cons: We were enjoying everything until the end. Until soon after checking out we received an email. We were surprised to see that they just charged us $60 for nothing. No explanation. No warnings. No response to our messages - we left 4 in total. That absolutely ruined our experience. We read others reviews here and in Google and learned that some people had similar experiences. Too bad and disappointing. We won’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend others.

Aussie's abroad

Pros: The S'mores by the fire and complimentary wine were very appreciated. Being Aussie travellers, we met some lovely people around the fire (who taught us how to S'more).

Cons: People having to pay for beach access. It was not an issue for us, and was no reflection on the hotel.

Pros: Location was great - 5 mins walk from the town and the beach. Great walking routes near by. Offers tea/ coffee, snacks, and cereal/ yoghurts every morning, as well as a complimentary welcome drink. We didn’t realise we had to pay to use the beach, however if you stay at the hotel they give you 50% off tickets. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons: Great pool area with a hot tub however there are not enough sun beds. They have Cabanas but you have to pay $40 to use.

Pros: Comfortable bed. Good sized room swimming pool good.

Cons: All good. Complementary breakfast was reasonable.

Pros: Location close to the lake, good breakfast, big and comfy rooms, quiet, car parking

Cons: Old and noisy A/C
