After initial doubts we really enjoyed our stay.

Pros: Todd the proprietor was most welcoming & helpful.It is great basic accommodation if you are an angler or want a base to explore the stunning country.

Cons: One has to go across the road to get breakfast from a cafe and also to eat excellent evening meals at a restaurant. That is not a criticism of the lodge as it wasn’t intended to have such facilities.

Perfect

Pros: Super friendly and helpful service. We stopped here while bike-packing (cyclist friendly) and they were happy to let us store our bikes while we explored the town and had lunch at the brewery (right next door), until our room was ready (which they got finished early for us even though we didn't ask for this). Rooms were spacious and thoughtfully appointed, smelled great. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Todd also gave us a tip to call the restaurant across the road for a reservation as it was super popular (food was amazing).

Cons: That we couldn't stay longer.

Pros: Pleasant, friendly staff. Accommodated us for an early check-in and moved us to a room with better WiFi connection.

Pros: It’s clean and comfortable and a great value. The manager on-site is super responsive and very nice. This is our 3rd time staying here, and we would return again.

Pros: Todd was great, super friendly and communicated with me about check in and out. The bed was really comfortable and clean. The room smelled good towels smelled fresh. Water pressure was good and water got hot. I would definitely stay here again, it's right next to the tavern, across from the general store and the stone fly restaurant. There's also a creek right behind the lodge.

Cons: Just needs a microwave in the room.

Pros: It was clean and centrally located in Markleeville. The water was hot in the shower. Todd was very personable. There was free coffee and tea. The cutthroat tavern was right next door with good food and live music.

A special place to stay

Pros: The room was immaculate, comfortable and quiet. The location was excellent, and Todd, the manager, is extremely kind and knowledgeable about the area. We would definitely stay here again.
